nanoscience and nanotechnology: small is different

Dr. Alfonso Latorre Lozano

PhD: Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Spain
Current Position: Researcher, Pharmamar (Biotech Industry)
Research with us: Biomachines and manipulation of macromolecules
Leaving Date: January, 2017

Alfonso Latorre completed his PhD at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in the group of Carmen Carreño and Antonio Urbano. He worked on the asymmetric synthesis of polycyclic aromatic compounds with helical and axial or planar chiralities. In April of 2011 he joined IMDEA Nanociencia as a postdoctoctoral researcher. He takes part in the European project “Multifunctional Nanotechnology for selective detection and Treatment of cancer (MultiFun)”, developing the functionalization of magnetic nanoparticles with anticancer active biomolecules. Also, he works on the functionalization of gold nanoparticles with linkers, drugs and biomolecules for detection and treatment of cancer.
