Short biography:
José Luis Salmerón holds a PhD in Computer Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Almería (2014) and a PhD in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Huelva (2000). D. in Computer Engineering from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (2006) and a B.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Huelva (1994). Since 2012 he has been University Professor of Information Systems and Management Informatics, accredited by the Engineering and Architecture committee, at the Pablo de Olavide University, Seville. He has taught subjects in Computer Engineering and Information Systems throughout his academic career. He has four six-year research periods, has supervised five doctoral theses and has published more than one hundred and fifty scientific articles in journals of the highest scientific category such as IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, Applied Soft Computing, Information Science, Neurocomputing and others. He has been principal investigator of national and European research projects. Since 2016 he is Vice President of the International Association of Grey Systems and Uncertain Analysis based in China. He is listed in Stanford world's top 2% scientists since 2020. Dr. Salmerón's interests: eXplainable Artificial Intelligence, Distributed Artificial Intelligence, Federated Learning, Reservoir computing, Quantum computing.
