Madrid, 23rd October, 2024. The IMDEA Nanociencia Institute has participated in the CazaCracks event, held from October 15 to 17 at the Casa de Campo Congress Pavilion, to present its innovative commitment to video games as a means of scientific dissemination. This event is part of the MadridInGame initiative, promoted by the Madrid City Council, whose objective is to promote the video game industry in the region.

Los Cazacracks, a "commando" specialized in the search for emerging talent in the gaming sector, toured the institutes of the Community of Madrid explaining the different professional opportunities and closed their mission with this event. The CazaCracks exhibition has had the participation of universities and training centers specialized in the video game industry. In this framework, the IMDEA Nanociencia institute, in collaboration with the production company Scientific Videogames, presented its video game "Nanocar Racing", designed to disseminate the science around Tunneling Microscopy.

During the event, IMDEA Nanociencia offered a talk dedicated to the presentation of the video game, which was available both in arcade machine format and for download on mobile devices, allowing attendees to enjoy the experience and learn about nanoscience. IMDEA Nanociencia, recognized as a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence since 2017, continues to promote scientific dissemination through various innovative projects. The video game "Nanocar Racing", launched in 2022, represents a pioneering initiative to support the dissemination of the Nanocar Race, the smallest race in the world, using video games as an educational tool.

With this initiative, the institute reaffirms its commitment to bring science closer to society in an interactive and attractive way, especially to young people, showing that science and technology can merge with entertainment culture.
