
IMDEA Nanoscience is a non-profit Foundation created on November 23, 2006 at the initiative of the Regional Government of the Community of Madrid.
Its objective is to bridge the gap between research and society in the Madrid region and to provide new research, technological development and innovation capacity in the field of Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and Molecular Design.
The Foundation in turn manages Institute IMDEA Nanoscience, a new interdisciplinary research center created in 2007 by the former Ministry of Education and Science of the Government of Spain and dedicated to the exploration of nanoscience and the development of nanotechnology applications in connection with innovative industries.
Institute IMDEA Nanoscience is also part of one of the strategic lines of the Campus of International Excellence (CEI) UAM+CSIC.
